Part of our goal is to get out into our communities to bring the savings to you!
Where We’ve Been
In September 2009, the Southern California Edison Mobile Education Unit made its first VIEW appearance at the Visalia Home Expo. Over 2,500 attendees came through the motor coach to learn how they can save energy and money in their homes and businesses. Since then, the VIEW Partnership has been regularly attending community events in the cities of Hanford, Lindsay, Porterville, Tulare, Woodlake, and Visalia and the County of Kings and Tulare.
On November 18, 2009, the VIEW Partnership launched the ever-popular LED Holiday Light exchange. The participating VIEW jurisdictions offered residents a one-for-one exchange of their old, energy-guzzling incandescent holiday light strands for new, energy-efficient LED lights. The Partnership held the program in both 2009 and 2010 exchanging over a total of 1,200 old light strands! Lights were recycled with VIEW community partners, CSET (www.cset.org) and SUNSET Waste Systems in Visalia (www.sunsetwastesystems.com). The VIEW Partnership is the first Edison local government partnership to develop a recycling program, leading the way to encourage not only energy efficiency but smart environmental practices too.
